Mojo music organizes play-out opportunities at nursing homes in the area. These are not charged to students and are Mojo music's give-back. We encourage everyone who can to attend as many as possible. Lots of playing by ear, impromptu performances, and a chance to get the concert pieces sparkling ahead of time are the benefits to students, and the nursing home residents love it so much.

Practice
Practice at home is a critical part of learning to play music. We recommend daily practice, and on tough weeks which happen time to time, strive for a minimum of 3 days practice during the week to maintain forward progress guilt free. The practice aspect of taking music lessons should be discussed between parent and student and a regular time for practice should be established as part of the lesson plan and the home support needed to make learning an instrument successful.
Absences
1. Industry standard is for student absences due to scheduling conflict will only receive make-up lessons if that absence is discussed prior to the beginning of the semester. As we transition to semester lesson plans, Mojo Music will allow 2 reschedules per semester if agreed to by the teacher and school prior to the day of the reschedule.
2. In the case of student illness, lessons will be held on Facetime or Zoom. If the student is seriously ill and unable to make it through an online lesson, make-ups will be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
3. In the event of extreme weather, lessons will take place on Facetime or Zoom.
4. In the event that Mojo Music needs to cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at a time that is mutually convenient for the teacher and student. Substitute teachers may be used occasionally if a teacher has to be out.
