Studio Policies
Please review the following policies before enrolling at Mojo Music. These guidelines help us provide consistent instruction and positve experience for students, families, and instructors.
Tuition & Payments
Enrollment and tuition may be paid by the semester or through standardized monthly payments. Fall semester tuition is due September 1. Spring semester tuition is due February 1. Monthly payments are due on the first of each month, September through June. Accepted payment methods include cash, check made payable to Mojo Music, or credit card. A 3% fee applies to credit card payments. Monthly-payment accounts must keep a credit card on file. If cash or check payment has not been received, the card on file may be charged on the 7th of the month. Tuition is nonrefundable. Students who enroll mid-semester will receive prorated tuition. Tuition rates may increase annually.
Attendance & Rescheduling
Consistent attendance is an important part of student progress. Mojo Music allows up to two reschedules per semester when the reschedule is approved by both the instructor and the school prior to the scheduled lesson day. If a student is ill, the lesson may be held through FaceTime or Zoom. If the student is too ill to participate online, a makeup lesson may be considered on a case-by-case basis. In the event of extreme weather, lessons may be moved to FaceTime or Zoom. If Mojo Music needs to cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time. Substitute instructors may occasionally be used when a regular teacher is unavailable.
Concerts & Performances
Performance opportunities are an important part of the Mojo Music experience. For Level 1 and Level 2 students, one concert and one rehearsal per semester are included in the lesson plan. Students enrolled in extended private-instruction programs may choose to participate in concerts for an additional concert fee, since concert participation is not included in those plans. Tickets for participating Level 1 and Level 2 students and their immediate caregivers are included. Additional tickets for family members and friends may be purchased during the week of the concert.
Community Performance Opportunites
Mojo Music organizes performance opportunities at area nursing homes and other community settings as part of our commitment to giving back. These opportunities are offered to students at no additional charge, and participation is encouraged whenever possible. Community performances give students a chance to build confidence, practice playing by ear, enjoy more relaxed performance experiences, and prepare concert material while sharing music with others.
Practice Expectations
Regular practice at home is an important part of learning and making consistent progress. Daily practice is encouraged whenever possible. During especially busy weeks, students should aim for at least three days of practice to help maintain forward progress. Parents and students are encouraged to discuss practice expectations together and establish a regular practice routine that supports the student’s lesson goals.
Summer Lessons
To help students maintain their progress between semesters, students are expected to enroll in at least four summer lessons. Summer lesson scheduling will take place toward the end of the spring semester. Students may schedule multiple private lessons within the same week during the summer when desired.
Photo & Video Policy
Mojo Music may take photos or videos during lessons, performances, and studio events for use on studio social media pages, the Mojo Music website, and other marketing materials. Student names will not be shared. Parents or guardians may choose whether or not to grant permission for photos and videos during the enrollment process.
